In 2006, a group of educators formed an informal group to try address the shortcomings they had observed over the years they had been involved in education. Determined not to repeat past mistakes, we reviewed best practices from within each of the international systems we had worked. We combined this review with a meta analysis of research focused upon top scoring PISA nations such as Finland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, and Japan. We then added in the voices from our Research Advisory Group which represents an eclectic group of respected global educators, school effectiveness researchers, child psychologists and pediatricians.
We can assure you that you will not find many MBAs and Engineers advising our teachers on principles of pedagogy. On the contrary, each member of the senior leadership team is an experienced educator with an understanding of how to transfer knowledge from one human to another. Collectively, we have advised state and municipal levels of government policy (though clearly, our advice was not always followed). We have set up schools in multiple countries. We have taught all grades and subjects from primary through to graduate school. We have taught IB, IGCSE, AP, and jurisdictional curriculums from each of the countries listed above including Singapore, Dubai, the US and UK.
We have worked with all sorts of special needs children from mild to those with advance cognitive disorders. We have dealt with all range of social/emotional disorders from anxiety to the serious and devasting issue of suicidal proclivity. We have dealt with all range of socioeconomic issues from working with children from inner city schools to children representing some of the wealthiest families on the planet.
In sum, we have assembled one of the most experienced teams of educators and researchers. Our company, the International School of Science and Art, is an International Education company with headquarters in Switzerland.
At a practical level, eCole-iSA is focused on delivering a K-university International Education guided by three key objectives:
Our prime focus is how to make the world a healthier, wealthier and happier place for ALL its citizens.
We believe in encouraging our students to respect each other’s cultures, identities and the planet. In other words, be kind to each other and your environment.
We believe that for real change to occur across the globe it starts with individual’s taking responsibility for the rights and freedom’s that they are naturally entitled to. This implies that the more freedom you have the more responsibility your bear.
